Brian was introduced in Starship Bloopers TOS 3rd season as a new engineering crewmember. His role was relatively minor until characters from the Funky Spice TOS pulled a heist on Bloopers Studios and crossed over to Space to get a canister of Nebula dust and brought it back to their own time.

After the heist Brian himself crossed over to the Contemporary Era, his role in Starship Bloopers was coming to an end and the Studios had new plans for him: Becoming the first of the Blooper Heroes! As Captain Douchebag, Brian was still a tool but a tool with a Blooper-Power, as he puts it… He cannot be hurt by women. Actually, he can’t be hurt by females or beings who identify as female of any species. He can be incapacitated, put in a state of discomfort or annoyed but never hurt. No matter if she pushes him off a plane, shoots him with a naval autocannon or formats the hard drive: Everything will be gone, except Brian.

Brian was neither particularly good at both being a Hero and at hiding his secret identity. Most people who knew him, even remotely could tell he and Captain Douchebag were the same person. That didn’t stop him from playing a role in the grand finale when the Heroes faced off against the Amazons and live to tell about it.

The recast

Captain Douchebag was recast as a Gen8 Character. His secret identity and skill set are basically the same as the original, but he has no recollection of the Starship Bloopers TOS event beyond what he could see on TV and “that Brian”, was not him.

Brian is the perfect Foil to Quadzilla, she cannot hurt him, and he can’t hurt her unless he gains access to heavy artillery. In a world where Quadzilla can go on a rampage after eating bad poutine… Everyone can sleep tight so long as they have Brian.

In the currently written present, the recast Douchebag is the only enlisted Blooper-Hero in The City. Other Blooper-Powered Characters are currently just happily passing off as normal citizens, some of them using their gift to as part of their job, others simply choosing not to expose themselves to the world.
