Jim is a career officer in the Terran conglomerate's military. Sometimes described as having the worst qualities of Pop culture characters such as James T. Kirk, William T. Riker and James Bond. Jim has both excellent tactical intuition and strategic thinking when approaching conflict. He literally wrote the book on strategic Naval encounters and his tactics are now taught at the academy. In fact, about 9 out of 10 standard battle maneuvers taught at the academy by the time of the Emperor's departure were developed by Jim or one of his pupils.

Jim is also a known Womanizer and is reputed to "always be horny". He has ex-wives and ex-girlfriends in every colony and nurtures a sexual-desire-for-vengeance sentiment for the Mistresses of the Amazons.

His career started by graduating Naturale Eius Debent Cum Loadedfrom the academy during the second War of the three Kingdoms and found himself hand picked for a high-risk mission by a soon to be admiral. Jim not only did well but showed unexpected leadership and calm under fire when the Admiral and his first Lieutenant were incapacitated during a battle against an Amazon Hive fleet.

Jim as the Helmsman, tried a daring maneuver briefly exposing a barely shielded flank of the admiral's cruiser. Luckily, the hive ship could only shoot one battery before Jim's maneuver righted the Terran cruiser's facing, protecting its damaged flank. The maneuver had brought the cruiser far too close to the Amazon's command ship for this one to evade what was coming. With his adversary locked in the cruiser's main weapons firing arc, Jim Stood up, pointed his finger at the tactical officer (who outranked him) and ordered her to "Fire Everything".

As the Enemy battleship turned to Fireworks with the flurry of cannons, missiles and torpedoes, the remaining Hive ships went broadband speed. (About 5 Mb/s in those days...)

Jim got a stiff bonus and was soon able to buy the rank of Captain just a couple of years later. Using his retirement fund as collateral, he took a mortgage to buy the then "out of warranty" Cruiser he had helmed since his graduation.

After a few years of running the ship as a leisure cruiser for rich space travellers and as the stage for filming the Poser Brother CGI-Reality show>, most of the shipboard systems had then been updated to the latest technologies. Jim assembled a new crew and a new mission that would take him once again to the Neutral zone to settle some unfinished business. (Ref: Starship Bloopers TOSStarship Bloopers TOS)

Jim then retired from the fleet and took a management job at Bloopers Studios where he supervises writers and special projects. He also made a few appearances in the contemporary era in Funky Spice TOS. In which time he is said to have remaried with one (or all of) the Mars Triplets
