Origin:

The Mars Triplets, as they have been branded by the Terran conglomerate are the product of privately sponsored research at Marslabs in the early years of the wars of the three kingdoms. Mars being a tax and ethics haven, the labs delivered a trio of custom clones from a controlled gene pool hoping to land military contracts for the creation of a highly skilled and low cost army.

As opposed to the Amazon Hive's cloning strategy of making their clones physically taller and stronger than the regular population... The Mars clones were designed to fit in existing infrastructures and be equipped with regular gear. They came out of their growth tubes at a perfectly ergonomic 5'6" height, an athletic figure and friendly complexions. Slight differences were introduced to demonstrate how flexible the solution could be and consequently the trio was given different natural hair color: Red, Yellow and Blue. To further lower maintenance costs, they would have slow metabolism, thus requiring smaller rations. Their sweat would have a scent reminding of flavors such as bacon, cinnamon or chocolate so they would not waste water to keep clean. Finally, permanent makeup pigments were built in their facial epiderma.

Marslabs gambled that the soldier of the future would be trained and equipped to overcome the need for brute force, or failing that, they hoped that Zapper research would also have a breakthrough when their product was ready to market. Which it did but the result was not the big fat cloning contract they hoped for, instead they became the target of an hostile takeover by Zappertech before the call for tender was made public. Under new management, Marslabs would not compete against Zappertech for military contracts. The head office now being located on Tera, ethics could not be ignored anymore, cloning technology was subsequently zipped and archived at the Proxima Centaury facilities.

The 3 living clones were emancipated and legally declared sisters... Triplets named: Aka, Kiiro and Aoi. Bred for combat, they could have completed the Terran navy training as security grunts with ease. Unfortunately, they did not secure the funds to buy themselves any officer level rank before applying to be part of Jim Johnson's crew in Starship Bloopers TOS Season 2. They settled for 1/3 of the officer's salary each and shared the same cabin for the duration of the assignment. Although, they quickly found their way in Jim's' bed and started sleeping in his quarters on a rotation schedule, sometimes doubling up, or tripling up on him when everyone's schedule allowed it...

The recast:

The triplets now hold important roles on the Bloopers Studios headquarters organigram. They still work as lobby security on rotation but don't be fooled, they report directly to the CEO. Because of such important roles at the Studios, the triplets have been recast for Gen8.

Aka, the red triplet:

Aka is the defacto leader and spokes triplet for the girls. In the interest of being efficient and as unconfusing as possible for 3 girls with identical voices, only one of them will speak for the group when they are together. Aka is also the designated Zapper bearer, in that role, she is the combat tactician and has never herself been at the receiving end of the transforming rays. Not even Jim was allowed to zap her for recreative purposes. Since residual changes have been known to permanently change Zapped personnel, Aka has made it her responsibility to preserve the triplets mint condition appearance.

Aka is deeply tuned in on her sister's body language, so much that she can read almost exactly what they are thinking from even the most suppressed emotional expression Kiiro and Aoi will show. She will then act as their voice as required. Unfortunately, all the empathy she has for her sister does not translate to other people.

The re-cast Aka is still Jim Johnson's wife and a close friend of Quadzilla. Her relationship with her husband have gotten a little tense since his retirement. Aka is still in her prime and very profesionnally involved at the studios, Jim on the on the other hand, shows up when he feels like it and only when the project he's working on feels special enough.

More than anything, Aka misses her space faring days but cannot cross-over again unless both her sisters agree and the Studios Allows it, at the moment it is very unlikely since the new SB storylinenew SB storyline has very few connection to the Original series.
